Tradie Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
1. Eligibility
By registering on Find A Tradie as a trade service provider ("Tradie"), you confirm that:
- You hold a valid contractor licence issued by the relevant Australian state or territory licensing authority for each trade you list on the platform.
- You hold current public liability insurance of at least $5,000,000.
- You are authorised to operate a business in Australia and hold a valid ABN.
- All information provided in your application is accurate and complete.
2. Licence verification
Find A Tradie will verify your contractor licence against the relevant state licensing authority before activating your account. We may request additional documentation including certificates of insurance, proof of identity, or ABN verification. Your account will not receive job leads until verification is complete.
3. How the platform works
Find A Tradie connects homeowners ("Customers") with licensed tradies. When a Customer submits a job request, we may send the job details to up to 3 verified tradies in the relevant area. You are not obligated to quote on any job. If you choose to quote, you contact the Customer directly to discuss scope, pricing, and scheduling.
4. Fees
Registration on Find A Tradie is currently free. We reserve the right to introduce subscription fees or per-lead fees in the future with at least 30 days' written notice. Any fee changes will not apply to jobs already in progress.
5. Your obligations
As a registered tradie, you agree to:
- Respond to job leads promptly (within 48 hours where possible).
- Provide accurate, written quotes to Customers.
- Perform all work to a professional standard in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Australian Standards.
- Maintain current licensing, insurance, and ABN registration at all times.
- Notify Find A Tradie immediately if your licence is suspended, cancelled, or subject to conditions.
- Not contact Customers for purposes other than the specific job lead provided.
- Not share Customer contact details with third parties.
6. Conduct
Find A Tradie may suspend or remove your account if you:
- Provide false or misleading information in your application.
- Fail to maintain a valid licence or insurance.
- Receive substantiated complaints from Customers about work quality, conduct, or pricing.
- Engage in conduct that damages the reputation of Find A Tradie or its users.
7. Relationship
Find A Tradie is a referral platform, not an employer, agent, or contractor. The contractual relationship for any work is between you and the Customer. Find A Tradie is not a party to that contract and has no liability for the work performed, pricing agreed, or disputes arising between you and the Customer.
8. Intellectual property
You may use the Find A Tradie name, logo, and "Verified Tradie" badge on your website and marketing materials for the purpose of indicating your verified status on the platform, provided you maintain an active and approved account. You must remove all Find A Tradie branding within 14 days of your account being suspended or terminated.
9. Privacy
We collect and handle your personal and business information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Act 1988. Customer information provided through job leads must be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Find A Tradie's liability to you for any claim arising from the platform is limited to the fees (if any) you have paid to Find A Tradie in the 12 months preceding the claim. Find A Tradie does not guarantee a minimum number of job leads, Customer quality, or conversion rates.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time by written notice (email is sufficient). Upon termination, you must cease using the Find A Tradie name, logo, and badge, and you will no longer receive job leads.
12. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Australia.
